We don't just teach acting, singing & dancing.
We help kids discover their confidence and who they are meant to become.
That's exactly what Front Porch Musical Theatre is all about. Through engaging classes, encouraging instructors, and unforgettable performances, children discover confidence, friendships, and a place where they belong.
How Does This Work?
It’s quick and easy to pick a class and sign up! Everyone who signs up is a part of the show! We will have auditions during the first week of rehearsals for parts.
Attend Weekly Rehearsals
For our younger students we have one rehearsal per week. Our older students have 2 rehearsals per week at our convenient location in Rogers.
Perform On Stage!
All of our classes end on the stage! Our littlest performers will perform at our Studio for their parents. Our 2 older groups will perform on a local, professional stage with a large audience!
Why Do Families
Choose
Front Porch
Musical Theatre?
Real Stage Performaces
Our musical theatre classes culminate in a full performance on a local stage complete with sets, lighting, microphones, makeup, and costumes. We provide the teaching materials, props, sets, and most costumes so every student can enjoy an authentic, high-quality theatre experience from the first rehearsal to the final curtain call.
Professional
Rehearsal Studios
Unlike many children’s theatre programs that rehearse in borrowed gyms or classrooms, Front Porch has nearly 5,000 square feet of dedicated rehearsal space. The main area is designed to closely match the size of a performing arts center stage, giving students the opportunity to rehearse with realistic stage spacing before opening night.
Family Owned &
Family Focused
As a privately owned, family-run theatre, we believe parents are an important part of the experience. You’re encouraged to volunteer and welcome to schedule a time to observe a rehearsal because we believe you should be part of the entire journey—not just opening night! Your involvement helps create the welcoming, connected community that makes Front Porch Musical Theatre so special.
Every Student
Has a role
By enrolling in our classes, your child is automatically in the cast of the show! They will receive acting, singing, and dance training no matter what experience or skill level they enter with. Every enrolled student has a part in the show and every role is important!
Exceptional Staff
& Mentors
Every rehearsal is supported by multiple experienced staff members, teaching assistants, and parent volunteers so students receive personal attention in a safe, encouraging environment.
Encouragement
& Growth
From first-time performers to aspiring professionals, we help students grow in confidence, skill, and a love for the stage. Our alumni have gone on to perform at Children’s Theatre, Stages Theatre, Lyric Arts, Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, the Guthrie Theatre, as well as community, high school and college productions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Wondering what to expect at Front Porch? Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often from families.
What makes Front Porch Musical Theatre different?
Front Porch Musical Theatre is a private, family-owned theatre company dedicated to providing high-quality musical theatre experiences for children and teens. Unlike many programs that rehearse wherever space is available, Front Porch has its own dedicated rehearsal studios designed specifically for musical theatre. Our spacious, climate-controlled facility gives students a consistent place to sing, dance, rehearse, and grow throughout the semester.
Families appreciate our experienced staff, organized programs, and positive, encouraging atmosphere. Every student is challenged to grow in confidence, character, and teamwork while discovering the joy of performing.
Whether your child dreams of center stage or simply wants to make new friends and try something new, Front Porch is a place where students are known, encouraged, and given the opportunity to shine.
Do students need previous theatre experience?
Not at all!
Many of our students step into their very first theatre class at Front Porch. Our teachers are experienced at helping beginners feel comfortable while also challenging students with more experience.
We meet students where they are and help them grow from there. Every semester brings new skills, new friendships, and new confidence.
My child is nervous. Will they fit in?
Absolutely.
Many students walk through our doors feeling nervous on their first day. Our staff works intentionally to help every child feel welcomed, included, and successful from the very beginning.
Whether your child is outgoing or reserved, experienced or brand new to theatre, they’ll be encouraged at their own pace while making new friends and discovering the joy of performing.
What if my child has never sung or danced before?
That’s perfectly okay!
Our classes are designed to teach the fundamentals while keeping the experience fun and encouraging. Students learn singing, acting, movement, teamwork, and stage presence throughout the semester.
The goal isn’t perfection—it’s growth.
Whether your child has years of experience or none at all, they’ll leave the semester with new skills and increased confidence.
How large are classes?
Class size depends on the program.
Our summer camps are a great option for families looking for a smaller-group experience with plenty of hands-on instruction and individual encouragement.
Our semester-based classes, especially On Stage and Showtime, are designed to give students the experience of being part of a full musical theatre cast. Students learn how to work together in ensembles, support one another, follow staging and choreography, and contribute to a polished production.
No matter the class size, our programs are supported by multiple experienced staff members, teaching assistants, and adult volunteers.
Will every child get a part?
Yes!
Every enrolled student is cast in the production and plays an important role in bringing the story to life.
Roles are assigned based on many factors, including the needs of the show, the age of the cast, attendance, and each student’s readiness. While not every student will have the same number of lines or stage time, every role is valuable, and every student contributes to the success of the production.
Can my child participate in sports and theatre?
Many of our students successfully participate in both!
We understand that families often balance multiple activities. However, because every student plays an important role in the production, regular attendance is essential and especially so during the final weeks leading up to performances.
Before registering, please review your family’s schedule to make sure your child can attend rehearsals and performances.
How much parent involvement is expected?
We work hard to make theatre a great experience for the whole family — without making it another job for parents! Parents are responsible for getting students to rehearsals and performances, keeping up with class communications, and helping students come prepared.
Volunteering is never required for your child to participate. We are grateful for parents who choose to help, though! Volunteer opportunities vary by production and may include costumes, backstage assistance, set construction, concessions, or helping during performances.
